Calendar load audit

Where your week actually went, from a calendar export you already have.

Read the full description

Reads a local .ics file and reports the hours you spent in meetings, the longest uninterrupted block you were left with, the time you were only optional in, and the patterns that quietly wreck a week -- early calls, back-to-back runs, rooms of eight or more. No login, no upload, no tools to install: an .ics is plain text and every calendar app exports one. Repeating events are expanded only where the rule is unambiguous; anything else is listed as not counted, with the reason, rather than guessed at. Reads the file and never modifies it; writes one PDF report.

Before you run it1 local tool

Everything here is checked on your machine when rote inspects the play. This page never learns what you have installed or which credentials you hold.

  • ○
    python3local tool

Must be on your PATH when used. minimum version undeclared.

Inputs5, all optional

rote asks for these before running and shows the defaults it will use.

  • Calendarcalendar

Absolute path to a .ics calendar export. Leave empty to audit the sample week bundled with this Play, so a first run needs no file of your own.

    optionalstringexample /home/you/calendar.icscustom value allowed
  • Youyou

Your own email address as it appears in the calendar. Used only to tell which meetings you were optional in, which you declined, and which you called yourself. Leave empty to skip those three findings.

    optionalstringexample you@company.comcustom value allowed
  • Day startsday_starts

Hour your working day starts, 0-23. Meetings before it count as outside hours, and focus blocks are measured inside it.

    optionalintegerdefault 9example 9custom value allowed
  • Day endsday_ends

Hour your working day ends, 0-23.

    optionalintegerdefault 18example 18custom value allowed
  • Reportreport

Filename for the PDF report. Writes one file into the folder you run the Play from, every run, by default -- set to an empty string for no file at all. Give an absolute path to put it elsewhere.

    optionalstringdefault calendar-audit.pdfexample /home/you/calendar-audit.pdfcustom value allowed

Credential values and current readiness remain local. Opening this page never prompts for a credential, opens an authorization browser, or calls a service this play uses.

A play is a published, versioned automation package that runs on your own machine through rote, a free command-line tool. Opening this page installs nothing and runs nothing.
